The Daisy Award
Want to Say Thank You To A Nurse?
Twin County Regional Healthcare participates in The DAISY Award program. We have many, many nurses who provide extraordinary care every day and this is a way to acknowledge that care. We will select a nurse from nominations four (4) times each year. The nominations can include any nurse (RNs/LPNs) in the hospital and outpatient areas/clinics.
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way. Please say thank you by sharing your story of how a nurse made a difference you will never forget! To learn more, visit DAISYFoundation.org.
This is an international program with the selected nurses being recognized in a public manner. Their names will be listed on the DAISY Foundation website, in addition to receiving a certificate, lapel pin, and a specially designed gift.
Nominations can be made by patients or family members, and forms will be available on our website as well as placed throughout our facility.
